December 24th ~ A Gingerbread Story
Well...it's finally the day/night before Christmas. Do you celebrate Christmas Eve or do you wait until Christmas Day? Or...do you celebrate both?
Ohhh, do you smell that? The sweet aroma of molasses cookies and banana bread? That is what just came out of my oven. Notice I didn't say gingerbread cookies? LOL I just couldn't eat something that might live in Gingerbread Town now, could I? At least not gingerbread men!
Oh my...I think I just might have a case of the tired jollies. I think it's time to call it a night.
Happy Merry Christmas Eve Everyone!
In Germany, you celebrate on Christmas Eve -- on December 24. Usually, the tree is decorated only a short time before that date, and children aren't allowed in the room where the tree is. Those it really feels like angels have decorated the tree -- and that the Christ Child brought the gifts. That's how I grew up -- lots of magic and peeking through keyholes to get a glimpse of the brightly lit tree before the evening came.
